After Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, a company executive revealed that it would announce a Galaxy Tab refresh soon, “in line with our traditional cadence.”
This indicates that we should look forward to September for the next generation of Galaxy Tab models.
Unlike most upcoming device launches from Samsung, this time the pool of leaks is only sparsely populated with the fish of rumors.
Nevertheless, there are still enough leaked renders, specs, and information to give us a good idea of what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: Design, specs, and price
Thanks to Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra renders leaked in July, we know what the upcoming tablet will look like from the front and back.
We also know that the Tab S11 Ultra will ship with an S Pen as standard, a welcome sign for the premium tablet.
On the front of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, we can see thinner bezels and a smaller camera cutout compared to the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The latter tablet sported a wide camera cutout with a regular 12MP camera and a wide-angle lens.
While this took up a relatively small amount of space on the 14.6-inch display, it’s good to see Samsung reduce it further.
We’ll talk more about cameras later, but right now it looks like we’ll get more screen size on the Galaxy Tab S11 than its predecessor.
On the back of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the biggest change is that the magnetic strip for the S Pen is gone.
However, the leaked renders aren’t complete, so Samsung may have moved it to the bottom or side of the tablet.
The magnetic strip may also be invisible, but in the same place as before.
Samsung also increased the size of the cameras on the back of the Tab S11 Ultra. This could mean we see the same lenses as those on the Galaxy S25 phones.
While the need for flagship-tier photography on a tablet is questionable, the overall effect is to bring the design closer to the company’s phones.
Samsung improved the experience of DeX mode on its Galaxy devices. It’s easier than ever to use your Samsung tablet as a laptop.
The company wants us to be part of the Samsung ecosystem, and using the same design language across its tablets and phones is a clear step towards this goal.
We haven’t seen many leaked specs regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, but there are rumors of a 500mAh battery upgrade floating around.
This is a sorely needed upgrade for the Galaxy Tab series, but we’ll have to wait and see if it’s just wishful thinking or the first of the tablet’s leaked specs.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra sported a 14.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate at a resolution of 2960 x 1848. As the bezels are clearly shrunk on the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra’s leaked renders, we can expect a slight increase in screen size.
There’s no news on pricing for the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, but we can expect it to match or exceed the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra’s starting price of $1,200.

Android 14 with One UI
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is large and in charge, a superpowered 14.6-inch slate that wants you to treat it like the laptop replacement it is. With a bundled S Pen and a speedy MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, it’s quite possibly the Android tablet to buy, but you’ll need the optional keyboard cover to really complete the experience.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: Software and cameras
One UI has experienced substantial changes since the launch of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which launched with One UI 6.
While we’re not expecting much from One UI 8 on the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the changes to Samsung DeX and desktop mode on Android could have huge implications for the premium tablet.
Google collaborated with Samsung to bring a PC-like UI to Android 16’s desktop mode.
This isn’t an exclusive Samsung feature, but as Samsung wants us to use its tablets like laptops, we wouldn’t be surprised to see extra tricks for DeX mode launch with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The tablet’s cameras look set for an upgrade. The bigger lenses on the rear of the tablet indicate we could get a photography experience similar to that of the Galaxy S25 series.
However, for a tablet, the front-facing camera is arguably more important, and this is where Samsung has made the biggest changes.
Samsung reduced the number of cameras on the front of the Tab S11 Ultra to one.
There’s no news on which camera Samsung has cut (likely the wide angle) or the specs of the remaining lens, but we’re hoping for a better quality main camera for video calls.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra could be a desktop powerhouse
A bigger screen and the introduction of desktop mode on Android could mean the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the best Android tablet for replacing your PC.
We don’t have long to wait until we see if Samsung makes its $1,200 premium tablet a worthwhile purchase, or a niche product for artists.
